The location. The resort has incredible views of the surrounding countryside. The pool area left a little to be desired. The highlight of this resort would have to be the location. It is right in the heart of Sedona, but offers spectacular views of the countryside. The staff was nice, especially the doormen. The restaurant (100Rox) was excellent. The pool area was a little bit small and disappointing. That would be my only criticism.

Our Amara experience was terrible.Do not be fooled, it is not a resort! You are on your own to get your own drinks while at the pool and only if the bar is open. The bar does not open until around 5 p.m. The staff is untrained and unprofessional. From the moment we walked in, the staff was unkept and messy. Their white shirts were wrinkled and sloppy. The rooms are a poor attempt of duplicating a Crate and Barrel feel. We had no wash cloths two out of our 4 day stay. Coffee service in the lounge area is empty by 8 a.m. There is no food or drink available for the pool during the day unless you order it from room service at their sister property next door. When the bar did open, my husband's beer was served in two small water cups because they did not have a plastic cup big enough to hold one beer. On our last night we waited 20 minutes to get our car out of valet because they only had one bell boy and he was helping a family with their luggage. Although they had our keys, they did not know where the clicker was to open the gate to the parking garage. This property is so poorly managed you should stay somewhere else! Huge waste of money and effort. We paid $ a night times two for two rooms. This was our Spring Break with our kids. A smile goes a long way and the only ones who smile at Amara are the bell boys.

There are hundreds of choices of where to stay in Sedona; we were very fortunate to have chosen the Amara. Great staff, great services and amenities, excellent location. Everything was just about perfect - and Traveloscity negotiated an excellent rate.

The location was fantastic, right on the creek. Very nice patio with fire pit at night. The hotel was very nice. Zen like simple decor. The rooms were fine. Great location--right in town and right on the creek. The staff was very friendly and offers to drive you up to the town/restaurants.

From the moment we arrived, we were happy that we were in the city, but down the road from the traffic and noise. The staff greeted us, and every single employee at this resort was friendly the entire time we were there. The grounds were beautiful with a breathtaking view from the patio and pool. We asked for a room with a view, and got a beautiful room. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. One of the best parts of the room was the bed. We plan on buying one for ourselves at home. It was the most comfortable bed we ever experienced. We had drinks and appetizers on the patio, and the service was superb. Good job!

We cannot say enough good things about this property. The staff was friendly, accomodating and went out of their way to provide excellent service without being too stuffy. It was a warm, relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Great private location just a short walk (or ride from the shuttle) to shopping, dining and more. The on-site restaurant was exceptional with both the food and service. We would travel back to sedona agaion just to stay at this property.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Nothing. My husband and I took our baby on a last minute weekend getaway. We were pleased to find that the hotel was in a perfect location. It was right in the middle of Uptown Sedona near all the shopping and food. The staff was more than helpful the entire stay. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for our baby's crib as well. The hotel was quiet and the grounds were beautiful. We plan to go back to this hotel in the future.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Amara. All the staff was friendly and helpful at all times. We had several meals at the hotel and they were superb. The pool & spa were also wonderful. The concierge assisted us in making several tour reservations and they turned out to be the highlights of our trip. I would not hesitate to stay there again. The entire experience was one of the best we've had.

Our experience here was very positive. We didn't use room service nor daily maid service for our 4-day stay so we can't comment on that. The staff was overwhelmingly courteous, very friendly and just flat-out nice. The kind of people you want to keep in touch with after you leave. Excellent concierge, excellent restaurant, beautiful location with awesome views (at least from the pool and restaurant setting) just steps from all the fancy shops yet very quietly tucked between the main road and the river. The spa looked fabulous but we did not partake. Complimentary daily wine tasting (more like " drinking" than "tasting") nice pool and jacuzzi. One of the more impressive things was the comfort of the bedding. You will sleep like a king here. The bathroom was great too, nice deep tub and massaging shower head. Overall a very nice hotel and we plan on returning.

Room and the carpet were filthy. Shampoo and carpet could be replaced. I put on a brand new pair of white sox and within 10 minutes the sox were black.

Valet's were the best part of the stay, very friendly, fast, and just good people. The rest of the staff was just as nice. The rooms had bugs, sheets had spiders, and the tub dripped the whole time we were there. The maid service was average. The courtyard picture you see is not what it really looks like, but wasnt a part of our stay anyway, just made it look far better than it was. The pool was VERY small. The morning walks along the creek were a wonderful time to reflect and the location was great for those who like to shop for trinkets. The beds were perfect! Watch out for the tubs, the bottoms are slick, get the bath mat out first. Be prepared to see wildlife out the room back dooor. We were sitting there and a skunk came from the creek direction checking various things out and we went back in the room quickly - just remember you are sharing that space with nature and these things will happen.

Several of us met from around the U.S. to enjoy a Thanksgiving Holiday together and the Amara experience started with confusion over reservation rates quoted by hotel staff. There were nine of us and we all seemed to be paying a different rate for like rooms. When mentioned to the desk clerk, rates were quickly changed to keep us happy, but at check-out time the rate was a different price again even though most of us had written confirmed prices which supposedly included ALL FEES and TAXES..The day before Thanksgiving, housekeeping made two calls to the room to ask whether or not I wanted the room made up on Thanksgiving (a holiday and skeleton staff). I clearly indicated to not make up the room having "time off" sympathy for the staff. They came in and made it up anyway. Check out day the bill was paid and the check out time was verified (the hotel has one time, and on line has another), when I returned to the room, housekeeping had the room torn apart for make-up and housekeeping was wearing a coat and loaded items left behind onto their cart. Items should have been placed in lost and found...... Dinning experience was so so. Took forever to get the food when the restaurant was only about 1/3 full and the food was warm-not hot. The good points are: location - the bar and bar staff - and excellent beds and bedding. I would not return to the Amara or recommend it to anyone

Nicely decorated and spa like atmosphere. Staff at the front desk didn't know what they were doing.

We arrived late at night with my partner in a wheel chair & on oxygen 100% of the time. We were offered a room with a balcony overlooking the creek, way at the back of the property. We were able to enjoy this room because the bell staff came with a wheel chair each time we needed to go out. They took us in a golf cart, to the top of the hill, to eat in a restaurant with a beautiful view. If we couldn't go out, the staff brought food from this restaurant to our room. If my partner needed food reheated during the day (the room has a fridge) the staff picked up the food, reheated it at the restaurant & brought it back to the room. I felt very comfortable leaving my partner to attend the seminars we had traveled to attend. There's also a day spa on site where I enjoyed a wonderful massage & facial. We were very pleased with our stay.

When arriving at Amara Resort & Spa you will notice from the drive down the gorgeous Red Rock vistas where the resort sits prominently on the secluded banks of Oak Creek. A friendly driveway attendant named XXX greeted me with a smile at the entrance; he prepared my luggage for check in and my key to Sedona's stylish resort. The contemporary decor and Zen-inspired style immediately welcomed me to Amara Resort & Spa. After checking in, I strolled directly to Amara?s AAA Four Diamond dining room, called the Gallery on Oak Creek, named so for the local fine art that adorns the restaurant lobby and walls. At that moment, the Chef de Cuisine and his culinary team we're preparing the evenings flavorful high Senoran cuisine. I ordered a Prickly Pear Margarita and enjoyed the kitchens aroma at the bar. Interestingly enough, the resort's dining room draws on flavorful influences from around the world and is cleverly paired with Amara's Award Winning Wine Cellar. I arranged for a sunset dinner and it proved to be a wonderful experience. I had the Scottish Salmon and finished with a cr?me brule. After dinner I strolled the beautiful grounds of Amara with a glass of wine and watched in awe as the stars danced, the water flowed and the fireplace radiated into the evening sky... What a night! Upon turning in, I couldn't believe the comfort of the bedding in my Creek side Suite. I have to say that I had the best nights rest in a long time. Overall, I would say that I experienced the most impeccable level of hospitality and service at Amara Resort & Spa, which in my opinion sets the standard for surrounding Sedona Resorts with an entirely new concept of hospitality and decor.

Have stayed at this facility on conventions in past. Charge for Internet access in business center and to Print Boarding passes. Nice redesign of lobby. Rooms are well done and have very comfortable beds, nice flat panels and nice roll out sofa. Fridge in room is full of stuff which we had to squeeze over to put in milk etc. Outside parking is very tight on roads that wind through the various complexes. Staffs was VERY HELPFUL upon check in and check out.

Relaxing. I like that they had coffee/tea in the morning and wine in the evening for their guests. I also like the location that is in the heart of Sedona. I also liked that they had complimentary valet parking. It was a very nice resort to relax and enjoy.
