Our stay at Country Inn and Suites in Panama was very pleasant. Beds had new bedspreads and room was spacious enough for the 3 of us. Breakfast came with the room and was a full buffett, with scrambled eggs, sausage, rolls (sweet and regular), yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal and anything you want to drink. Wireless internet access was good from the room. The pool and landscape were beautiful. Staff was very helpful. It should be noted that this hotel is located on the other side of Panama City from Tocumen Airport. This means if you are renting a car, you have to traverse the city through heavy traffic and congestion, along with poor to no street signs and poor maps to guide you, to access the hotel. It's best to take a taxi from the airport. The hotel is located at the entrance to The Causeway, and also has a TGIF Friday's Restaurant on premise.

Location is good because of central location to attractions Initial room was not as promised but management did remedy problem

We would not have enjoyed Panama as much if we had stayed at a different hotel. We had a room with a balcony view of the Canal and the bridge and it was incredible, worth every penny. The breakfast every morning was good, especially enjoying it poolside where we could watch the ships go by. TGIFridays serves meals and drinks poolside as well. The Causeway begins in front of the hotel and is great for a walk or jog. One downside- the hotel is not walking distance to anything, so if you don't rent a car you have to take a taxi out for every meal, unless you want TGIFridays for every meal.

I got the impression that the hotel was doing me a favor by allowing me to stay here. They were not friendly or helpful at all. Location is good and convenient. It is away from the hustle of downtown but close enough to get there quickly by car or taxi. They provided a breakfast buffet which was not very good. There is a TGI Fridays located next door which was decent. Room was supposed to be non- smoking but had the smell of stale cigarette smoke. Nice sized room but did not have a safe for valuables. "Garden view" was a view of parking lot and oil storage tanks. Would not recommend staying here.

Again enjoyed our stay here- only problem this time was bvery noisy neighbors. Obviously not the hotels fault. Food always great, location convenient, staff helpful and friendly to english speaking customers.

Old fashioned charm. Some rooms over due for general maintenance upgrading. The lobby is very nicely decorated, the personnel are willing to help, but not all speak English. Some rooms need bathroom tiles redone or at the very least, re-calked and grouted. The next time we stayed there the bathroom was better. The rooms were clean and the linens were fresh and white in the hotel. We slept well. The complementary breakfast the next morning was pretty good too.

The hotel itself is located in town on a busy intersection. The cab fare runs approx. $ from the airport. When checking into the hotel make sure you get a room in the front. We had a suite which was located on the backside of the hotel and they are building a tall building behind it which means you can't get a view out your windows. There is a cement wall located 4 feet from the windows. No outside view from the back. The only view we had is when we opened the front door and seen the alcove. We requested to move to the front and the only rooms there are single rooms, which are rather small. The hotel is attached to TGI Fridays which makes night time meals easy to get. It mostly appeared to be a locals hotel but at TGI Fridays you can meet other nationalities. The buffet in the morning was nice. For the price they charge I expected more amenities and at least a window I can open. Pool had foggy water in it and no one used it for the 3 days we were there. Staff was friendly and professional.

Our room was awesome... the bed was one of the best I've slept in around the world, 2 tv's, 2 parts of the room with a dividing door (was great for travel with a baby-they also have cribs). The balcony had gorgeous views of the canal and bridge of the Americas. The staff was nice and helpful! The pool was beautiful and clean, just a little on the cool side. The breakfast was delicious! TGIF's had a very friendly staff, great food and good drinks! The causeway is a beautiful place for a long walk down to the islands with other restaurants. Enjoy!

Hotel was located outside of city. Very nice location. Rooms were comfortable though a bit dark and gloomy near the entrance. Great Pool and view of the Canal. Staff was mildly friendly, but not really accommodating and pretty uninformative. Hotel's arrangements with cabs was a rip-off, better to walk 1 block and negotiate your own deal. Breakfast was not very appetizing. Good fruits, breads, meats (slices of ham), and eggs were un-appetizing.

Overlooking Panama Canal. Staff were not friendly. It was a good place for staying. It is by Panama Canal and close to the local airport, this hotel might be too far away from the International Airport, Toucman.

We very much enjoyed this hotel and would stay here again. NO BUGS/NO MOLD/NO BAD SMELLS. vERY CLEAN. The staff were very helpful. The Doormen need to learn their jobs. Everything else was great. Love the location...

I commented to my wife, if someone were smart they would come in and remodel all the rooms and upgrade them. The owners should spend some money to make some money....being so close to Amador they should seriously consider this.

The location and the overall atmosphere. The ice machines didn't work. The hotel is in a prime location with easy access to many restaurants and interesting sights.

The hotel smelled musty and I am now home for almost 2 weeks and can't get the musty smell out of my clothes!!! I have travelled the world and never had such a horrible experience. The pool had mold in it and you will take a huge risk swimming in it! Save your money and stay somewhere else!! Also, the AC worked when it wanted and we had to ask for hand towels and face cloths EVERY DAY! You would think after a few days, they would automatically provide them! No! The staff could not be bothered either.

Location - great view of canal and bridge. Inconsistent service, esp. a breakfast. Located at the Panama City end of the Amador Causeway the view from the canal side rooms is beautiful. From the balcony we got a great view of the Bridge of the Americas and the estuary of the canal. This view changed daily as the tides were significant. The room was quite comfortable but we had problems with the toilet and door locks; both were repaired quickly. The entertainment end of the causeway was a bit too far to walk but a taxi ride was only $3.

The hotel is in a quiet location and the Bay balcony view is excellent. However, the room was so-so. We had a suite and the sofabed was very hard. There was a bad smell and water leaking from the A/C vent in ceiling. I worried about mold. The desk clerk was supposed to send someone up to check it out twice and never did. Nice to have the small frig. The hotel van charges * to go downtown. Local taxis are small, dirty cars often without A/C but charge about 5 to go downtown. You MUST ask the price before getting into the taxi as drivers may overcharge you. Hotels downtown are in quite noisy areas. The great part about this hotel is the private tour company office on the first floor. You get a private guide and wonderful service to many locations from city tours to rainforest canopy, canal tours, Las Tinajas restaurant/show and native villages. Continental breakfast was OK. Lots of fruit and pastry but the eggs were watery. Good table clean up service. TGIFidays next door was so-so. Too much fried food and utensils were dirty. Pool water was cloudy so we did not go swimming. Sign nearby states you can get infections! Hotel did NOT come and pick us up at the airport as we requested so we took a van for the same *. Prices at Panama restaurants and taxis are very reasonable. But I would not stay at this location again.

Beautiful water view from room & balcony; close to good restaurants; excellent breakfast buffet. Need a rental car; no airport shuttle available. Beautiful location overlooking bay entering the Panama Canal - and great view from room & balcony. Lovely pool and grounds. Felt very safe. Excellent buffet breakfast. Free computer access 24/7. Close to good restaurants and running/bike paths. Need to have a car; no airport shuttle. Would definitely stay here again!
