My Stay at Alveston HouseVery impressed with the hotel, the room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The restaurant was a litle pricey but the food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful.

Alveston HotelAs a single female travelling on business I found this hotel to be exactly what is required. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, and the food that I had was excellent. The hotel room felt secure and safe and the facilities were as stated within the literature, and it was very clean. The Hotel was easy to locate and as it is on a primary route this was really convenient. So all in all it really did meet my expectations.

I rarely stay in a 'non chain' hotel but this experience has completely changed my mind. I received a very warm and friendly welcome from the moment I arrived and this level of customer service continued throughout my stay. Nothing was too much trouble. It had exactly the right balance of professionalism and friendliness that is so difficult to find. I ate in Carriages Restaurant and can easily see why they have received their AA Rosette. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to visiting the hotel again.

Another good stayCustomer service top notch as usual. I stayed in a different room this visit, was quite a bit smaller but more modern. Good value for money but restaurant menu is still pricey (quality of food is exceptional though.)Expect to return soon.

Second stay here. The lounge area has had a refurb. Looks much more modern. Usual great service. Plan to stay here again.

Very small room and parts of hotel was having a refurbishment, which was not explained at time of booking. Hotel managment would not sanction a different room unless an extra £10.00 was paid!

Customer service is great, very nice and welcoming.Hotel was clean, some rooms a little outdated.Quality of the room was above average size. 19" LG LCD TV inc.Value for money is good, dinner meals are expensive but of high quality.

East to find off motorway, single room was very small, asked to be moved which was done very efficently and charged extra as well ,eventhough there were two single beds and i can only sleep in one. Food very expensive.

The food menu choice was a little limiting if you are staying their for a prolonged period and relatively expensive as too were the soft drinks.

Was disappointed with the evening meal but was impressed with the breakfast. If I stayed again I would only have breakfast.

A little pricey, but generally a clean and comfortable single room (slightly dated)...not too small. Evening meal was very good and breakfast choice good. Porridge was very nice! Good transport links, but a little out of the way if you want to walk into town.

Good location, easy to find off of the M5. Well decorated bedroom and nice and clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent, and all of the staff were really friendly.

Nice clean hotel with good food and good service. Only gripe is that the previous day's loose bottles were emptied into the waste bin at 7:15am.... not a nice way to be woken up!

Easy to find, good parking, good breakfast, I stayed 3 nights, including one which had a wedding party booked.Had the hotel not told me (when I booked) I would not have known they where there. The room was small but good, However, some updating would not go amiss.. Staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. A good hotel for the business traveller in the Thornbury area.

For the money I paid the room was tiny and whilst the bathroom was decorated to a very high standard the room itself was not. It was noisy as the room appeared to be above where they sorted the bottles out the back and in addition it appeared to be above a two way swing door to a kitchen as you could hear the noise till late in the night and then again early in the morning. Very very friendly staff but the room quality was low.

Old fashioned rooms still using old brown blankets and single beds for £90 rooms - not great value and a poor nights sleep. Customer service and staff were good however. Hotel needs to upgrade rooms asap and even if they pass this on to customers it would be better value.

The hotel looked ok from the outside and was easy to find (off a main arterial route). I was warmly greeted and showed to my room. The room was a single and was tiny. The room was very dull and dingy and there was only one towel. The bathroom was tiny and the shower even smaller! The television was one of the original portables and the picture was just about visible. The food, however, was very good, but the total stay including one course of dinner and a pint cost nearly £120 which seemed very steep.
