Check In was simple. Our room was clean, sleek and modern. This hotel is geared to the younger crowd, but as a 50 year old, I felt quite comfortable and hip. It has fantastic contemporary decor and amenities. It has a quaint bar and inviting lobby area. Shuttle runs to mass transit, convention centers, and the airport regularly.

The hotel does not have ANY parking spaces onsite but contracts with the City of Chicago for guests to stay in an adjacent parking garage at a rate of $26/night. We had 2 cars so that significantly increased the cost per night. Had we known that charge up front, we would have selected a different hotel. If you are driving, there are several hotels north of I-90 that offer complimentary parking. Aside from the parking, the hotel was nice and very kid friendly.

For an airport hotel this one was pretty nice, it's practically brand new. The rooms, while not large, are big enough and it's location makes it easy to get to O'Hare quickly or hop the EL to the loop. Free wireless internet was a nice touch, but parking was a rip. Paying in the garage was $13 a day, not bad for something so close to the airport, but for some reason if you paid at the front desk the price jumped to $25. I guess the lesson is to pay in the garage...

I loved the hotel's ambience. The modern and club look and feel was great! I only had a problem with the staff charging my american express card for overnight parking without my permission. I thought the hotel was emaculate. I loved the decor and the modern edgy design. What I was appalled with was that the clerk asked for my credit card to place amenities on hold (which didnt include the parking). When I awoke the next morning, I found a receipt under the door saying that my card was charged "As a convenience". Well it wasnt a convenience because I had planned to pay for it at the parking gate which wasnt even owned by the hotel. As a result I had to walk down to my car, retrieve the parking ticket and walk up to be validated. I was already pressed for time trying to get to airport, so this became a huge inconvenience. For that I wouldnt recommend any hotels who behave in this manner.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Very much a boutique hotel for the price of a typical Hampton Inn or Marriott Springhill or the like. Cool bar, very nice and helpful staff. Rooms were great, quite, upscale. I'd stay here again.

We tool the "el" train from O'Hare to downtown. Aloft is near the terminal and this makes it a good location. The design of the hotel was impressive. Each room had a large big-screen TV on the wall and rock music played in the lobby. We had problems with the help, however. They did not clean our room and when we asked for extra towels, more coffee supplies and toilet paper, they brought up only towels about 3 hours later.

The hotel overall is real nice the rooms could had been a little bigger. My biggest complaint is that when i got back from my trip i check my credit card on line and they had charge me so many different charges that i didn't do. I been calling them they said they would call back , i had to call them back,i'm still waiting for it to be fix,so be careful

My husband and I joined two of my old highschool friends, we are all scattered through out the US. We all enjoyed the new modern style of the hotel and felt it was neet and clean. We loved the shuttle sevice and the advice the drivers gave us about places to go and ways to avoid eccesivley priced meals and transportation. They shuttled to and from airport, area restautants and the train to downtown. I plan on bringing my teenage children with us the next trip, they will love the place.

Very trendy and modern style, great ambiance in the common areas. Pay for parking, $20. per day, wish could indicate that in advance. Exceptional hotel, modern, trendy, elegant all in one package. Very comfortable and luxurious. I enjoyed my stay. Only drawback is the pay for parking.

This Hotel was designed for a Fun,Unique experience and, it delivered.attention.Once we arrived we were instantly dazzled by the super cool bar in the lobby area, set with multiple chairs for lounging,a pool table and a dual sided glass fire place adjoining with the outside..With the bar being set we couldn't wait to see our rooms. The room was adorable, and chic. They made good use of the space...there were 2 queen sized beds a nice sized flat screen tv,a modern walk in shower and other little details that make this place unique. ...I can't wait for more of these to open as I will seek them out any time I travel. I had a wonderful stay on my last evening in Chicago just staying in and lounging at this hotel

I travel a lot and think 90% of hotels are the same. Yes, they range from plain to fancy but for me they mostly don't have much distinctive character, even the better ones. They cater to the public and pretty much have a utilitarian feel about them. Not so the Aloft in Chicago (OHare). It is styled in what I would call European modern industrial decor- that means platform beds, modular furniture, etc but it is also infused with liquid lava floor tiles in elevators, colored track lighting, and tasteful neon lighting in the lobby. All in all a combination that, in my opinion, would be a recipe for disaster if not done correctly. In that case the effect would be cold, and way over the top as these types of designers like to hit you over the head with their 'art'. NOT SO HERE. It is art. And done in a masterful and tasteful way that really does (for me) affect my mood positively by being new, different, and invigorating. Typical hotels reflect the same old way of thinking, the same old routine, the same old way of looking at things. Staying at the Aloft made me feel fresh mentally, by its different yet beautiful way of presenting reality to me. But be warned, this hotel is not for everybody. If you don't like modern industrial art you will hate it here. While not overbearing the hotel style is bold-it will affect you. Make sure you are open to this before you take the plunge. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 for 2 reasons: The first is that because of its 'hip' style, and discounted rates, it attracts many people 20-30, at least when I was there(May, 2009). I don't mind that at all except as you could expect, there was a bit of noise in the hallways at 1-2 am Friday and Saturday nights. This particular hotel is near Ohare so the sound-proofing in it is excellent. As a result the noise in the hallway was muffled for the most part but if other hotels dont have the sound-proofing it may present a bit of a problem. So you should ask for a room at the end of a hallway to make sur

Great atmosphere. Difficult to get to the hotel itself. The hotel is definitely not for families but should be more for couples. It is also good for a younger crowd. The music, atmosphere is younger and more festive. The walk in shower was really nice and the room was well soundproofed. Except for the difficulty in getting to the hotel, we would stay there again.

Modern update, boutique feel to this hotel. Fun for younger crowd, like games and free pool table in the bar area, the only thingI did not like is shuttle service to airport stops running at midnight.

The staff were friendly and the concept good. Poorly executed though. The food is a typical honor bar setup, nothing special. And, although the web posting here says they have room service at selected hours, they don't.
