We were able to hang out by the pool and the beach. Everything went really well except that they didn't have water bottles anywhere. You had to take cups to your room. This hotel was great.

Excellent place if you like the resort style of accommodation I stayed here two days and it was good - I especially liked the shows at night really good the extra convienece of an all inclusive resort was great - the only thing that turned me off a little was the attitude and rudeness of some of the people staying at this resort towards the Dominican staff - be prepared that not all staff know english and dont be upset if they dont understand you as I witnessed a few people like this towards staff very rude - heh you in another country respect the people and you will get that in return - otherwise a great place

I booked the vacation all inclusive then read the reviews. BIG MISTAKE!!! I am not sure what type of vacation these people were hoping for in an all inclusive holiday...which they may have gotten at cost but this hotel was worth every one of my pennies. The staff fabulous...the rooms were comfortable and very clean...and the buffet was great. There was something for everyone. Unless you were a 7 year old kid that eats nothing but chicken nuggets and frozen pizza there is something there for you. If you are not willng to relax and stop nit picking everything its a great resort with alot of activities. The fun club was wonderful and over all we had an awesome time. If you want to relax and get a bang for your buck stay with the allegro. WE ARE GOING BACK!!! PS EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF STOP READING REVIEWS FROM STUFFY PEOPLE!!!!

The hotel was average, the food was very good. However, you could never get a reservation for any of the restaurants. My bedrooms door handle was broken and to get the key out the lock was a challenge and couldnt get any assistance.

Like any hotel in Dominican Republic the staff is great. The hotel itself was not. The room I stayed was muggy. The food could have been much better. They used the leftovers to make something else for the next day. I asked for a king bed in advance ( one month) and instead I received two double beds. The beach by the hotel was dirty. You would have to walk about a mile along the beach to find a decent spot. The only plus was the pool, especially if you have kids.

i had a good time at the hotel the food was ok the staff were friendly and they had a lot of special games to play while you are in the pool. there evening shows were good, i spent a lot of time in the casino, i feel like i won more than i lost, they have nice things to do like jet ski, horse back riding, 4 wheel motorcycle tours etc. i would definately take another trip over there and this time bring the kids.

This was the worst vacation ever, Started off by the resort not sending their shuttle to pick us up at the airport. we had to pay * for a taxi. the rooms need to be updated, not to mention their were roaches all over the bathroom, it was disgusting. The place gets packed on weekends with locals whom are not sophisticated and have no manners. The food is terrible. I was looking forward to the Dominican Buffet, which was terrible. Their restaurants have the slowest and worst services of all. Sad to say but I would never return to this island again.

Resort overall was okay but bedrooms need to be renovated. My friends and I had a great time at nearby Club Mongu. The Damajagua Falls is a must see.

I am from the Dominican Republic and I have visited many hotels in the Dominican Republic. But this is the most awful experience that i had ever encounter in my life. The rooms were dirty, the sheets look as they were dirty. The food was awful; the taste of the food was horrible. Customer services was the worst, the treated me and the members of my family and other guest around me very badly. I wouldnot recommended this hotel to anybody, not even to my worst enemy.

we booked a room with a view of the beach , beautiful view however the room smelled like it had a lot of mold , the air conditioner was old , in fact we asked to move us to another room and the whole area with a view was old and decrepit. so they gave us a newer room looking over a garden, not the pool either. , very noisy people there , on weekends they have the locals on some type of special and the place gets packed with kids and very noisy and pushy people. also we paid extra for the beach view and when asked about giving us some type of creidt they said to get a hold of you the travel agency , this was my first expereince in booking a hotel with travel velocity and I believe this will be my last!

Hotel Staff were very friendly and helpful. Made it a point to make you feel welcome. Very nice rooms in a beautiful setting near the beach. It was nice to have a Casino on site.

The price was awesome, all-inclusive, two large pools, one for tranquility and one for pure enjoyment. The beach was a few steps away from the pool, entertainment was nice, something for everyone, staff was attentive and friendly. Had eight people in two adjoining rooms for five days, we had a great time....went horseback riding, on the house and paid a decent fee for snorkeling... Varied buffet for all three meals...had more than enough food.barely saw our rooms during the day..always something to do...

My boyfriend and I are VERY low maintenance. The grounds are lovely and the resort is RIGHT on the beach! The rooms were very plain but clean. We stayed in the older part of the hotel in the middle grade room called the Superior room so I assume the rooms that were a grade down were not so nice. We caught a peak at the suites in the newer part of the hotel which looked much nicer. The bed in our room was not comfortable at all and I wish we had an alarm clock. They had stations set up throughout the day on the grounds with treats, juice bar, hot dogs, etc. which were GREAT in between meals. They also had a pizzeria which we unfortunately did not get a chance to sample. The food in the main dining hall was good, even great and I advise everyone to stick to that unless traveling off the grounds to a local place to eat. We got there Monday and could not book at the Grill until Wed. My boyfriend is from the Caribbean and we are both well aware that warmer climates tend to have more bugs and such but what we experienced at The Grill was beyond that! We found a roach in our bread basket!! I probably could have dealt with anything but that and left my food untouched feeling sick to my stomach. Although the waiter was very apologetic and offered us a new table, which we declined, the hotel's hospitality person was not accommodating. He just said we should expect such things in the tropics and nothing was offered to us. In terms of the rest of the staff it was a toss up. Some were so very nice and others seemed bothered and unwilling to help. If it wasn't for the roach and the blase hospitality staff we would have been willing to return to this resort. The view, grounds, food and easy access to the beach were enough for us to be willing to return. But...that roach is burned into memory as is the so-so staff.

The la playa dorada hotel was in a conveinant location and next to the beach and pool. The food was okay but not much of a selection. The room did not have a iron or board I had to acquire one at the front desk. The daily and nightly activities were enjoyable. The casino was also available in the evening hours.

The hotel was comfortable, first set of rooms I did not like so I asked for something better which we did got something much better on the second floor, the people are very friendly, entertaiment was good, the landscape was very nice and the food was not too bad. The location was not bad. It is not the greatest hotel I have been to but I woulld some what visit again.

Very unhappy about the cleanliness of the dining area; in three occasions roaches were seen. some of the staff at the bar area were not curtious; it seemed that they catered to people drinking hard drinks and left tips but not the the customers asking for virgin drinks. Maintanance of the pool and overall hotel was very poor. Took a few tours which allowed us to be out of the hotel but presented expenses for us that were not planned.
