The Allalin was terrific - beautiful and spacious room with excellent bathroom, balcony with view, great breakfasts, and very responsive staff. We particularly appreciated staff's help with picking out the right hikes for us - they listened carefully to our description of what we wanted and gave us great advice. We were there on our honeymoon and were so pleased to have a beautiful and friendly place to stay while we enjoyed the gorgeous mountains. The only minus was that our double bed was actually two twin beds pushed together - not quite as comfortable.

Friendly staff takes good care of their visitors with personal attention. Great breakfast. The room we stayed in was small, but with a refurbished bathroom (not all have that) and a fantastic wooden roof. Towels changed twice a day. Located in a quiet street in the the city centre, only a few steps from the ski bus (you need to take a crowded bus to the slopes from most hotels in Zermatt). A little bit pricey.

We had an excellent annual trip to Switzerland and decided this time to experience the trendy skiing retreat of Zermatt. The Hotel is a work of art. Between the intricately carved wood panels and the lavish public space and the welcoming woody scent in the hotel, it is beautiful. Our room was just this way as well. Although, there was an unexpected surprise when we looked out the window and low and behold was the village cemetary. Besides that the view was picturesque. The night we spent there consisted of waking up sporatically to tell the obnoxious people downstairs to be respectful of the guests (us!). Other than the rude guests the experience at the hotel Allalin was magnificant. Additionally, the staff there was very helpful and understanding. Probably because our families knowledge of German, but English, French, and Italian are understood, too.

all staffs are very nice and making you feel like a family ..the breakfast is incredibly good and you may not need to have lunch after you have that nice breakfast.

This is by far the best hotel/B&B we have stayed in across all our travels across Europe so far. Simply the best. We managed to get a room with a view of the Matterhorn for a few extra francs, totally worth it. They have free drinks which changes every day. Free snacks, tea/coffee. Rooms are very spacious as are the bathrooms. Fantastic hotel. Will definitely stay there again. Oh, and it's walkable from the station, even with luggage.
