This recently renovated (October 2007) downtown charmer is in a historic building one block east of the waterfront and ferry terminal, and four blocks from the Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square. It is situated 15 miles from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. In the heart of downtown near the waterfront, the hotel is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, live entertainment, and other attractions. Northwest art simply fills this hotel. Complimentary service includes a morning paper, morning coffee service, an evening wine reception in the lobby, and access to the on-site fitness center and private steam room. The hotel also offers 24-hour room service, valet parking, and the book-filled Library Bistro restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We managed to get a great deal on this hotel through ebookers and stayed here for a few days before heading on to Canada with family. We had an amazing time. Our room had amazing views, was clean, spacious and had plenty of facilities, the bed was unbelievably comfy. The little bar downstairs that goes onto the street was a great night spot before retiring to bed and the bar meals were pretty good too. It is a 5 minute walk to the Markets and if you love to walk it's not that far to the Space Needle either. If you turn left out of the hotel you will happen across a lovely little coffee shop/internet cafe. The drinks are sublime and you get some free time on the net with a drink purchase. We kept in touch with onward connections this way! Ride The Ducks is an unmissable event! We had a great 3 day break and if there was a deal on this hotel again we'd be staying there this year. It is well worth the price they charge but a little out of our honeymoon budget this trip :o)

We stayed 2 nights here with our 3 kids. It's close to Elliot's Bay, the aquarium, and pike's market. We loved staying here!!!

I chose this hotel largely because it was the cheapest available for this weekend. For I think I could have had better. When I arrived at 4 PM, you would think the room would be ready,not so. They told me it was still being "inspected" and would take a few more minutes. After about 20 minutes, they still weren't ready for me and I left my things and came back later. When I returned, the room was ready and don't get me wrong, it was a nice room and the bed was pretty good, but it wasn't worth the I paid. Internet in the business center was for 15 minutes and there was a snack and drinks tray in the room. You better look over the price list before you open anything. I was advised of a complementary wine tasting I could participate in and I don't know if they do that every night, but it's cheaper than taking anything in the room. Bottom line, they nickel and dime you and weren't even ready for me when I arrived. Not worth .

Amazing staff. Parking. The Alexis is a lovely, very classy boutique hotel. Rooms are spacious and elegant, and the smaller size of the hotel is nice. The staff was wonderful.

Very nice hotel, especially after $10M renovation completed in late 2007. The woman who initially checked me in was not friendly at all and barely made eye contact as she told me the room was not ready (it was 2:30pm, check-in time is 3pm). After waiting for about 45 minutes I checked again with the reception desk, and this time the woman who helped me was very nice and accomodating; she found me a comparable room so that I did not have to wait any longer. The room (#436) was large, with a limited water view, and hip but comfortable decor. The only drawback was the tub, which seemed like it was not touched by the renovation. Otherwise the room, furniture, and rest of hotel was spotless and beautiful.

This is one of the nicest hotels! We stayed here one night, pre-honeymoon. When I confimed the reservation I mentioned it was our wedding night and we were upgraded to a room with waterfront views. We were also surprised with a bottle of champagne & chocolates. The room was large, almost too big! The bathroom had Aveda products. They have wine tasting every evening and you can paint postcards they will mail for you. In the morning they have a coffee/tea service in the lobby. Wonderful teas! Definitely a first class hotel!

Lovely hotel. Right in the heart of Seattle. Great food and drinks. Pricey but great. My little dog loved it. VERY EXPENSIVE THOUGH. The only complaint was late night room service. I arrived at 10:30 from working on sunday, and room service was basically closed and the poor little girl was flustered. She said all they had was some ice cream. Thankfully someone was able to make a sandwich. My point is that don't say you have late night room service if you don't.

I stayed there for 5 nights and not ONCE did someone ask who I was, to see my key, etc (and I was coming in very late)...so probably NOT a good choice for women traveling alone. Otherwise, good room service, nice people. Ask for a room on the 6th floor with a view. Oh, and the whole place smells like the Aveda spa....really yummy! If you are hell-bent on shopping a lot while you are there, you might want to stay closer the main shopping area/Nordstrom.

We walked to the waterfront, to Pike Market, to the Seattle Center...the hotel is in a great location. It is so nice to be downtown with everything near by. Even better, close the curtains at night and have no noise or outside lights interrupt your sleep. Being able to have a bite to eat or an evening cocktail in the hotel was a plus. I will recommend the Alexis to anyone travelling to Seattle.

I liked the wine in the lobby every evening-fun time to meet people from all over. We could easily take the bus or walk to everywhere we wanted to. While beautiful, the room was not as practical for 2 people sharing space as others I have stayed in. This was a place with a fun atmosphere and it was easy to talk to other travelers. This was a good location for getting around Seattle. The room was elegant and different-loved that I could open the windows.

We were housed in a room facing the alley. The alley seems to be a major connector for the fire engines and the garbage trucks so be prepared for lots of noise and little sleep. The room was nice but smaller than expected. The staff was great!

Fast check in. Asked for late check out a day in advance - no problem. The room was spacey and clean, good job housekeeping!! An excellent little bar; surprisingly well stocked! Not the first time at a Kimpton hotel, will come again!

Clean. Very helpful staff. Great location if you want to walk to Pike's Place Market, Art Museum, ferries, etc. Only drawback is that rooms are to some extent designed to be stylish rather than practical (e.g. very little counter space in the bathroom, poor lighting for reading except bedside lamps).
