basic and practical. Needs redecorating and tidied. Lift needs improved. Showers were poor. A huge appreciation must go to all the staff. Helpful and always smiling. GREAT staff just a shame about the decor. i will be going to Glasgow again, but would not return to this hotel.

For the money we paid the hotel was good value. Large spacious rooms and reasonable facilities. A good hot or cold buffet breakfast.

A good location - near train station and bus stop. Friendly helpful staff. Only complaint is that the hotel is old and is in great need of refurnishing.

Decor in the room was very poor, wallpaper peeling with stains on the wall. Carpet had not been cleaned as there were hairs from previous clients all over the place.

Not somewhere which came highly recommended by Internet reviewers and probably not a hotel you'd use for a prolonged stay but, for one night here and there, it's perfect and is brilliantly located just on the outskirts of a busy shopping area and right beside Central Station.

Accomodation was of a high quality and facilities above average for the price. The breakfast was not only fresh and hot but the service was of a high order. The whole experience was fantastic and the location just complemented the whole experience, everything within walking distance..................

Despite booking a 'Superior' room, I found the accommodation very lacking. The room had bare shells for wardrobes, a TV set on the wardrobe with no remote and no ariel connection - so no picture. The bathroom was as big as the room but the sink had no plug. This is in a great location for the city centre but you can get much nicer facilities for the same price not much further away. I wont be using this hotel again - it seems alright if all you want to do is crash after a stag or hen night but wouldn't suggest it as a place for visitors to the city - it will give the wrong impression.

Great quirky little hotel in the centre of the shopping area in Glasgow. Myself and 5 friends stayed there recently for my Hen Party, and we wanted a place that was relatively cheap, clean and in the centre of things. It was better than we expected and had a little extra wackiness to it, which is always interesting! Check out at 10.30am though - not ideal and it costs an extra 10 per room if you want a late check out...bit of a swizz really. Only other downside was that hot water ran out at certain times of the day and I had a rather cold shower on one occasion - not a pleasant experience! Only other bad thing was the sound of our neighbours banging doors - the rooms don't seem to be well soundproofed. But if you're after a place to lay your head after you party hard, this is the place for you!

Big hotel with 75 rooms. Quality depends extremely in which part of the building you stay. The modernised ones face Argyle Street, but are more louder than the ones in the back of the building. These not only look partly very old, some rooms suffer under the smells of a chinese restaurant, which is positioned directly underneath them. The smells are very strong and it is extremely important not get the rooms from 14 to 17 at least in the second or third floor. The ambient and look of the public parts look very comfortable with thick red carpets, Golden Mirrors and historic paintings and statues everywhrere and especially in the very comfortable lounge/Bar-Area. The localisation a few hundreds of meters from the Main train Station in the most attractive part of Glasgow, full of historic sceneries and a very rich cultural- and nightlife, which is incomparable with the most European metropoles, is the main reason, besides the prices, why this hotel can be nevertheless recommended.
