Have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Albus Grand Hotel. The hotel staff are friendly and the reception staff were very helpful. The breakfast is of good quality and plenty of variety, from yoghurts to crispy bacon! The location of the hotel is good. You can walk to the City centre in 10 minutes. The only negative comments we have are the lift was broken for most of our stay and we were on the 8th floor which meant we had 16 flights of stairs to climb! Not great when you have been walking around Amsterdam all day! We also asked for a non smoking room our room was clearly a smoking room as there was a strong smell of stale smoke and had burn holes on the carpets and chairs! All in all a good hotel that we would recommend. Book early as it's cheaper!

Went on a family holiday, the first time I ahd stayed in this Hotel. It was a good location, and big rooms compared to others in Amsterdam. The walls were a bit thin. But overall an enjoyable stay.

Very nice hotel with spacious rooms and great beds. The staff at the reception was very helpful - especially Patricia :-) Breakfast was full and excellent, but beware - you are kindly told at 10 sharp (10.30 on weekends) to finish your breakfast and leave the breakfast room. Very interesting to notice people's reactions - those who showed up at 9.55! The location is fine - close to "lively" areas, close to the Opera and close to shopping areas. The hotel is facing a rather busy street, so remember ear-plugs if you are "allergic" to traffic noise.

good location but very noisy. no air cooling equipement in the room and because the street closed to the hotel is very used, you cannot open the window. no car park. welcoming could be ameliorated.

Nice hotel with very good position. Short stroll to Rembrandt square (with clubs, restaurants and cafés)

Nice and cosy, in a very central position. Clean and spacious standard rooms, fair quietness, even in rooms on second floor. One problem: there is only one elevator and, while checking out..it was out of order! Luckily I was on second floor!

We discovered that breakfast was not included, and would cost 12€ per person. had I known this (it wasn't mentioned on the confirmation form) I would have chosen another hotel. For four people, it made a big difference. I showed them my print outs, they agreed that it was misleading - but too bad for us! Definitely- don't go! Also in full summer, impossible to buy a bottle of mineral water at the hotel.

Unfortunately we were at the hotel in a heat wave and as our room was under a flat roof, it was unbearably hot. As no other rooms available, we were given a fan but still found sleeping difficult so changed to another hotel. This one was 4-star, but same price. Had more facilities in public area but rooms not as nice as at Albus which are very clean and very nicely decorated.

I had an OK experience with the Albus Grand. The hotel lobby is very fancy and clean, however the moment you get off the elevator to your floor it's like it's a different hotel. There was an extremely annoying noise in the walls the whole entire night. Not sure if was water pipes or what. Was also unpleasantly surprised when we flushed the toilet for the first time and had to leave the room due to the sewage smell that came up from the drain. There are so many hotels to chose from in Amsterdam. When I do return I will NOT chose the Albus Grand.
