I have used MANY discount travel agencies for hotels.we travel almost every weekend..this was my first time with your business...and the LAST....though it was clean, and for the most part the staff was OK...the location felt "ghetto"...was not in a good side of town....people milling around looked to be homeless, and maybe living in some rooms of the hotel...do you not check out the locations you recommend!?...i am NOT a picky person at all..but this was a true disappointment; our key didnt work, and the worst part was that all the people checking in around us got a better deal on the room than we did through you...that has NEVER happened to us using other travel sites...and then they made us sign the receipt showing what their rate would have been, which was $114....we paid you 142!! so much for "cheaper" travel...at least now we know not to use your site...there are so many, and so much competition..you really should check out your hotels before listing them...we stayed the night before in Dallas...for 20 dollars less a night in a suite Sheraton hotel....what a contrast! sorry you lost us on this one! gwynn/mike hatfield

I was told this motel was in a good location when I booked it over the phone. Boy where they wrong. It is in the beat down side of town in a shady location. It was hard to find and once I found it man I sure was disappointed. The motel is all fenced around since it is in the hood. Before I walked in I noticed people standing around the motel and once I walked in they were eye balling me until I made it to my room. Once I got to the room man it was dirty, didnt have any bath towels, and they told me there would be an iron in the room. Nope there wasnt so I called for one then a man brought it to me. I started to iron then my husband put the iron up in the closet where he found a crack spoon. Once I saw that I couldnt believe it. Then we started to get our stuff together since we didnt feel comfortable being there, there was a police officer patroling the motel parking area. Then we saw several people making deals outside in the parking lot. I stayed there maybe 30 minutes at the most and contacted Orbitz for a refund. They called the office of the motel and they told me to stay 1 night and they would credit me for the 2nd nite. That was a big lie. I had to spend double what I paid so that me and my husband where in a safe area. Till this day I have not been refunded. This motel is a hot spot for the police and I do have pictures of what we found in the motel room. This is not a safe place for anyone who has valuable items or children. It may be a cheap place to stay but its not worth it. I would not recommend anyone to this motel at all. Stay away for your own safety.

ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN my daughter was horrified.. she saw a drug exchange in the parking lot... there is a cheap strip club right across the street... PLEASE BEWARE....!!!!

It was okay for the price. Not at a very good location. First the towels looked like hand towels not bath towels then could not get any for the next day because they were out.

I figured it wasn't going to be the Ritz due to the price and location, but that's cool. Only spent one night there and it was terrible. The comforter was stained, the dresser didn't have a bottom drawer, or rather, the bottom drawer didn't have a BOTTOM. Nope, that was knocked out somehow. My girlfriend was bugged by the sketchy area, but that never bugged me until I heard the door to our rattling at 3 am. Luckily, it was only a young couple who had been misdirected to our room. Unluckily, an hour later the night front desk person(who had checked us in hours before) was knocking on the door, saying "Who's in there? You can't be in here!" Mind you the window does't open and the door needs a keycard, so there was no way we could have just slipped inside.

The only thing that would have helped was a refund so we could go somewhere else. I have never stayed in a worse hotel. The only plus was the front desk, she tried to accommodate us but it's hard to do when the rooms are caving in on themselves and the housekeepers can't do their jobs. Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy

This place is the worse place I ever seen. The room were dirty and room service never brought any clean towel. You have to buy your ice here. The ice is 50 cent, but all you get out of the machine is maybe 8 ice cub. Your best bet is to fine a gas station.

The Alamo Lodge was very comfortable with powerful air-condition and king size bed. It had a TV with cable, a table with two chairs, and a dresser with a lot of surface space. The hotel is located in the downtown area so it's just several blocks away from the Riverwalk and Alamo in San Antonio. It's great location has access to great restaurants, bars, and the Rivercenter Mall. I really enjoyed my stay and would return again.

Buckets of ice cost $.50. When we finally got the lights to work we saw the bedshave brown stains on them. I got a towel and set in the floor. When I set down in the floor a caucroach crawled across my foot. That was it we left.

I don't have any good comment with this hotel. The hotel was very ugly and dirt. The room was old and the carpet was too nasty, cigar ashes for everywhere, the bathroom was old too and the tub curtain was with fungus, all the furniture its old and some parts are broken and dirty too. In conclusion it?s the worst hotel (if I can call hotel) that I ever visited in my life and special in United State. The only thing that I agree was the distance to downtown it was not too fare, but I can?t believe that the hotel was in a suburban area and very danger for us.

alamo lodge was very hard to find.when we arrived we were disappointed ! I guess the saying is true:YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR? this place had nothing nearby no store or restarants! you had to drive in to downtown just to find somewhere to eat.

The Alamo Lodge is like Renting at your Own Risk. If you have any asmatic in your family do not stay here. Stay Away. There was a terrible smell throught all the rooms. When I checked in they gave me the choice of two rooms. I thought this was great.. until I seen the rooms. The first room had curtains pulled from the wall, had a bad smell, a dirty bathroom. I was told that they had trouble in that room earlier. The second room had an even worse smell and the shower curtain was pulled to the floor with screws and all attatched. I was told the 'Maintenance Man' went home for the day/night. I went back to the receptionist and reported that these rooms were uninhabitable. We had to search an additional two hours for another room that night. When I returned in the morning another couple was complaining of the same things and it was concerning another room at the other end of the lodge. They told them simply we understand but we will still chager you for one night. Located in a realy bad area of town. I THINK THEY RUN A SCAM ON UNSUSPECTING VISISTORS JUST FOR A QUICK BUCK. THEY ARE SUBSTANDARD IN EVERY WAY. STAY AWAY!!

The door did not lock correctly, are sheets were dirty the comforter was torn in several places. are caroet smelled of mold, the hotel manager said this was new carpet! The neighbor hood was horrible, people walking around the cars at night going in and out of the hotel.

There was dead roach legs in the bathroom, the toilet had no tank and the room was full of flies. It's not a place for an over night stay or even a drive by ... while lost in this city. There is nothing good I can say about this place

The Alamo Lodge was definately not what we had planned for. Our door to the room that we were staying in did not even lock. On top of that it smelled of marajuana and the bathroom was rusty and old. The neighborhood was truely only a hood, and the traffic in and out of the hotel was constant. We are not satisfied in the least bit. We ended up going to another hotel and paying less for a far better room.

The Alamo Lodge in San Antonio seems to be a safe place to stay. It was nice to have a microwave and TV/cable in the room. If management focused on cleaning, the stay would be much more pleasant. (The carpet was dirty, wet, and sticky. The bathroom floor had dirt tracks and the tub was dirty...I had to scurb it! There was only one towel. The bed sheets were torn and dirty. The comforters were torn and smelly. The pillows were old. The pool had dirt on the bottom of it.) The place has great potential and it seemed that the walls had a new coat of paint. The carpet also seemed to be new, but what a shame it is not kept up so that it lasts longer.
