Was REALLY disappointed in this stay.....the room wasn't available at check-in, there was no key for the room, no cold water in the shower(only VERY HOT), no remote for the TV, burn marks on the furnature and carpet. Also the staff was not very friendly, the location is actually in the "hood" FYI...don't try to use a passport for identification; they wouldn't take mine...

The folks at this family run motel will bend over backwards for you. I called from the airport, and they came and picked me up. While only a mile from the city center, the location is not the greatest if you want to walk, but they offer a free shuttle every two hours to the Riverwalk. The room was spotless and large, with a fridge inside, cable tv, free HBO. I couldn't swing the exhorbitant downtown hotel prices, so this fit the bill.

Simple, Clean and Quite, just the way I like it.

The hotel didn't reserve a room. They had the fax from Orbitz showing that I had made a reservation and paid for it. But they didn't reserve the room. I had to go to a different hotel and pay $30 more per night. The neighborhood was also pretty sketchy.

The rooms were tidy and clean, the beds were comfortable enough and teh price was quite reasonable. despite being on a fairly busy corner, it was actually very quiet insode the rooms. If you down mind being near a cemetary then this is a good place to stay. The bus stops right outside the motel and it's a 5 minute trip downtown for $1. You could not meet a more helpful person then the owner, Rick. He'll take you into town for free and was very compliant with all our requests. Our deal stated breakfast which turned out to be the most minimal and small breakfast bar I've ever seen - a shelf in the motel office area. That didn't bother us at all as the many restaurants along the Riverwalk were such a great part of San Antonio.

I want all to know, the Owners of this hotel are the Sweetest ppl, along with their Housekeeper! Very Friendly and Accomadating and for just taking over this hotel, doing a Wonderful job! It is close to all main attractions and dining. Anything you are looking for is right there! I would recommend this hotel to all and can't wait to get back! I traveled alone for the first time, and never had a worry. Quiet and simple, but Wonderful for me! I would tell all to go here if visiting the area! Take care all, see you soon; I Hope!

You get what you pay! Other than the check-in time ( we could not get checked in early even we are coming from 5 hours away), everything else was fine!

This is a very good hotel for those who just want a clean, nice place to stay. Nothing fancy, no restaurant, pool of fitness center but we wouldn't have used them anyway. Just an economic place to spend the night after a busy day in San Antonio. Free shuttle to downtown was great. We also enjoyed the in-room refrigertor, microwave, coffee pot and iron and ironing board. The air conditioner was so cool we were able to turn it off at night and use the ceiling fan, in July in Texas! We stayed 5 nights and all were very quiet and comfortable.

It is a motel so don't expect super extravagance. It has a very good service. The owner provides free shuttle (by van or car) to center of town. Free wireless internet connection! Really great energy :)

The owener of this hotel right off the bat was extremly courteous and they were rather helpful. They have a mini van that they shuttle you to the River Walk with. They go every two hours but were very flexible one pickup and drop off but last pick up was at 10. That was okay because the hotel was so close to the River Walk the cab back was only about 8 bucks still cheaper than the parking is for the river center area. The staff was friendly and service was great. If we go back to San Antonio I do belive I will staying there. Great service for a reasonable price! It was literaly only about a 5 minute drive to the zoo, alamo, and riverwalk. Seaworl is about 15 minutes away and rather easy to find.

Because of what I was paying for this motel, I did not have high expectations at all. That being said... I was horrified. Though it was a non-smoking room, the room reeked of smoke and all of my clothes smelled filthy. The shower smelled terrible of mold and sewage, there were flies coming out of the drain, it was a nightmare. I was told later that the neighborhood is very unsafe, and that few taxis will drive there.

The hotel was good. There are no complaints from my side. The neighborhood can be a bother for a few ppl( is quite rough and eerie). Otherwise, the dining option near the hotel are nil.

The worst part about this hotel is it's location. Constant cops and ambulances driving by both nights we stayed there. The location did not seem very safe. The Alamo Inn is not in a good part of town and not worth the $ we spent. The beds were uncomfortable, there was not enough parking.
