This is not the first time we stay at the Ala Moana Hotel. We continue to go back because we enjoy staying there very much. The location cannot be beat, the service is great, and the amenities are many. I was saddend to see Aarons Restaurant close, it was beautiful. Always nice to stay here and we will be back.

Good location. Room category disceiving. I booked 2 rooms for 2 male travelers in each room, but on checking into the hotel, the room was a queen bed with a sofa sleeper that if you pulled it out, you had nowhere to walk. Should say a one bed room (they don't have 2 double beds) and the sofa may only be suitable for a child.

Great location for the shopaholics ! Very reasonable car park rates @ $15 per day with plenty of spaces.

I thought this hotel was adequate. The housekeeping services were less than optimal. For example, there were atleast two days were our room was not cleaned until 5:pm enthought we were gone most of the day. The sheet on the sofa bed were never changed.(My son slept there) The hotel receptionist when we arrived made me feel like I was bothering her when I came to check in. The concierge service, however was excellent. They were very well-versed and helpful with directions to places on the island. The people who work the shops in the lobby were very nice also. I did love the location of the hotel. The Ala Moana beach Park was great and just a hop-skip-and-a-jump form the hotel. Could walk to most places including Wal-mart!!!!

I chose a "partial ocean view" room, and paid a little extra for it on Orbitz. When I arrived to check in, I was told I'd been "upgraded to the Waikiki Tower at no extra charge". Upon entering my room, I was very disappointed to find that I had no ocean view whatsoever, but was overlooking the parking lots of the businesses and towers behind the hotel. My room was not larger and did not have any extra amenities, so I viewed the "upgrade" as a "downgrade" that I paid extra for.

The Ala Moana Hotel Honolulu is a modern hotel ideally situated next to the new Ala Moana Shopping Mall and convenient for the excellent bus service to either Waikiki beach or downtown. The hotel itself is very clean, inexpensive, the staff are helpfull, cheerfull and efficient and as stated above the Hotel is ideally situated. My wife and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a clean value for money Hotel. The Rotary Club of Honolulu meet at this Hotel.

Refined, pleasant atmosphere, andocean view. Guest services not quite as pleasant as could be, hurried. Overall, was very pleased, nice rooms, nice shops, andclose to everything.

We love this hotel for its proximity to the convention center, Ala Moana mall with its food court and bus access...and the beach is only a few blocks away....we return every November and will do so as long as we can find discounted room rates.

I have stayed at the Ala Moana several times over the years. My family and I were always in the other taller tower and found it to be nice if a bit cramped (4 people in 2 rooms) when relaxing in the evening. The Kona Tower only had one queen bed ( the other tower had two singles in each room) and a sofa for evening chats, so there was room to walk about even if 4 people were in the room. . The view was not of the beach but this was not important to my family. The rooms were very clean. Our room had a coffee maker, a microwave, and a small refrigerator. I have always recommended the Ala Moana, but after this trip it's definately at the top of mt list.

I was at the hotel for buisness. The breakfast restaurant said they had made to order meals but when you show up they only offer buffett. The buffett was average but over priced. The wait staff were very friendly. To park at the hotel for 4 nights was $60.00. This was not mentioned. The pool bar and restaurnt were closed (did not indicate that in their website). The lobby bar was closed (also not mentioned). Restaurant at top of hotel was also closed and their were signs advertising this. I liked the convenience store in the hotel and short stroll to Ala Moana shopping center. Friend I met there told me that they are condos and if you go through condo onwer it is cheaper. Had problem with TV and it took 50 min for someone to come up and help.

The employees were helpful and very friendly. Room wastoo small. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. The features in my room, although small, were excellent with a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave and spacious closet. The room was kept very clean. I had a view of the city from a large window which I didn't expect. And the lobby is beautifully decorated and impressive.

The Ala Moana Hotel was very clean and one of the best prices for a 4 star hotel I found in my research. The staff was helpful and friendly. This was our first trip to Hawaii and if given the chance we would definately stay at the Ala Moana again.

It's all about the location. Super close to great shop, great restaurants and park/beach. Great area for running, swimming and they have a really nice gym. Pool is okay, but no bar anymore. Rooms are fine - clean, good size.

This hotel was located across from my convention center meeting. The rooms were cubicles. We had to twist and turn to navigate around inside. This is a convenient hotel. It provides the basics. It is not the Hilton.

had a great experience... clean rooms, friendly staff. love the location!! away from the waikiki crowd. can walk across the ramp (on 2nd floor) to ala moana shopping center if want to shop or eat. there are also many local eateries nearby. it's also just a couple of blocks away from wal-mart and don quijote if need to get some basic essentials. the beach/lagoon is just across the ala moana blvd. near 92 and H1 highways. we even got to see fireworks from waikiki side in our own room! parking is $$ per day.. not so bad compared to the $$ for 2.5 hours parking we spent while visiting the main waikiki area. the only down side is that the fire dept is a block away.. so can hear sirens.

The Ala Moana is well located, but is not well suited for the Senior traveler. I had to go to the front desknon our 3rd night to report a recent arrival of very noisy young travelers that seemed to think that they were the only ones on our floor. I did not get satisfaction, and had to go to the front desk a second time with the same complaint the following day. They did say they would try to move us, but nothing happened. I did point out that we were going to be here for 3 weeks, so I guess that did not matter.
