By far the worst 4* hotel I have stayed at in Athens. The decoration was cheap and nasty and everything was badly maintained. Most 3* hotels I have stayed at recently were far better! The quality of the breakfast was very poor and, while the male staff were polite and helpful, the female staff, especially the receptionist that greeted me, were abrupt and impolite. The only "positive" is its location, but then there are many much better hotels near by in the Plaka area. I definitely do not recommend this hotel and for the price I paid (126 euros for a Friday evening) one can definitely find better.

The Staff were helpful and friendly. The accomodation clean and the location very good. The only issue we had is that we found our beds very firm! We were lucky enough to find a park for our car in one on the very narrow streets near by.

We stayed in ordinary rooms. The staff was very nice and helped us with bookings of restauants and gave us advices agout Athens. The location of the hotel was great. The only negative thing were the beds. They were very very hard. That´s why we didn´t give tens all over.

The employes of the Hotel were so positive, upbeat and wanting to help you in any way they could. Our trip was 21 nights out. The nights we spent with this hotel were the best of the whole trip. We are so glad we selected the Parthenon. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so pleasant

We had a group of 3. The room was spacious enough to accommodate us. The hotel is situated in the Plaka area. Really nice area. Just a minutes away from the Acropolis. Also, it is situated very close to Ermou Street which is a huge shopping street (about a 10 min brisk walk from hotel). Breakfast was just fabulous. Probably the best that we had after travelling around France, Switzerland and Italy. Would highly recommend for anyone to stay there.

Hotel Parthenon is in a perfect location but on a side street so is quiet. It's 200 metres from the Acropolis metro station where you can easily get the metro to the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Like most European hotels, this one is not up to American standards. However, it's very good for a European hotel. And whatever drawbacks it had are outweighed by an excellent, helpful staff.

We were here two different nights, and we had two different rooms, both were nice, clean and quiet. The breakfast was great!!! and the staff amazing! The location is really convenient: on a small quiet street, 2 min walk to the Metro and close to the center of Athens. Highly recommended!!!

The hotel is perfectly situated reght next to the Acropolis and the brand new archeological museum in Athens. A few minutes walk to the main entrance. It is also very close to an area full of shops and bars and restaurants. An excellent location.

I was really impressed with Hotel Parthenon. The location to the Acropolis and the Plaka was great. We felt safe walking back to our hotel at nite because of the amount of tourists around. The staff was very courteous and extremely helpful. Prior to our arrival I e-mailed regarding transportation from the airport to the hotel. The letter I received was very detailed and offered different modes of transportation including the prices so one wouldn't get ripped off by taxi. We decided to go by subway, and followed the directions sent by the hotel. They were great which made our arrival a pleasant one. I would definitely recommend Hotel Parthenon. The breakfast was great and offered many items to choose from.

The hotel location is excellent. You can walk to many tourist sites in 5 or ten munites. The metro station is also close and convenient. The receptionists were very polite and helpful. We feel, for a 4 star hotel, the room condition is a little bid old and the variety of its breakfast should be better- for example add more fresh vegetables.

Our stay in Athens, and our two nites at the Parthenon, were part of our overall trip to Greece - to Crete ( 6 days), Santorini (4 days), Athens (2 other days), bus tour (2 days to Delphi and Meteora), and finally the last 2 days at Athens at this hotel. Thus we particulalry liked the Pathenon's location at the edge of the Plaka district, near Metro station, and a close walk to a number of fine tourist oriented restaruaunts, and lots of shops. Plus close walking distance to the main sites of Athens. Great location, very helpful staff, and a first-class type of hotel. The full breakfast was very enjoyable, with scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon - plus lots of fruit, juice, cereals. Thus you can pay a little more to be near the Plaka area, and you get more if you stay at the Parthenon. Make sure you take a stroll around the general Acropolis neighbourhood in the evening, so you get to see the hilltop setting from a number of views or angles! Finally, the Acropolis site is still undergoing a fair bit of reconstruction as of summer 2008. (See photo).
