| We recently returned from a week at Agua. We could not have had a better experience! The hotel is well manicured, well-run and left no detail undone in the use of luxury materials in the construction of the units. The architecture is truly unique, with large pavillions of thatched roof structures for common spaces such as reception, dining, pool/beachside dining and spa. The second floor rooms are connected with an ingenious suspended bridge made from natural resources from the area. All common bathrooms are luxurious with finishes and amenities you'd expect at a Ritz-Carlton/Four Seasons level resort. The Spa has a unique water circuit to invigorate the senses before or after message, which you can take in air conditioned bungaloes, which again are appointed in top notch materials. The work-out center has new machines and is adequate. The food and wait staff paid attention to every detail and was at a level you would expect at a culinary institute. Special requests were ALWAYS "no problem" - never a trouble for the staff to go out of the way to please. We literally felt as though we had the entire staff at our every beck and call. We have traveled extensively throughout the world -- this resort fares well in comparison to the best. The location is a bit remote from the tourist resort areas of Punta Cana, which is both good and bad. It takes some time to get to clubs and other restaurants, but the distance from the crowds is also a blessing inasmuch as you have a paradise to yourself. The beaches are wide with beautiful sand. Agua resort has a point location with reefs suitable for snorkling a few feet from the shore. We's return in a heartbeat. |
