Our experience was fantastic. From the hotel ambiance and room view (granted we were on the 26th floor which holds some relativity) to the friendly staff and impeccable location, the Affinia Dumont stands alone in Murray Hill. We stayed at the Affinia for a week to celebrate out anniversary and to celebrate our engagement!! =D Compared to previous trips taken to Manhattan, the rooms are more spacious and the hotel grants a generous amount of amenities. Additionally, the staff never ceased to amaze us when exercising courtesy and demonstrating that they are all knowledgeable and helpful professionals. Thanks so very much for making our trip the most memorable...

We loved our stay at the Affinia Dumont. The room was spacious and had an amazing view, the bed supremely comfortable, the gym was great, the staff always helpful and friendly and the location couldn't be bettered. We enjoyed our breakfasts at the Barking Dog, as well when we ate there at night. Would recommend the Affinia Dumont very highly.

When we needed to go to NYC to have a base while we checked out colleges in the area, we chose the Affinia Dumont because it was a four star hotel, close to Grand Central Station. It turns out it is also walking distance to the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and Times Square, plus a lot of great shopping! The hotel itself is awesome. The rooms are huge, one of the best deals on two queen sized beds in the city. It even has a full kitchen! The staff is amazingly friendly, polite and helpful. The greeting by the doorman alone was very cool! The city was packed with people on Spring break, but the hotel was always very serene and classy--treated more like a resident than a tourist. I was proud to stay there. I have already recommended the Affinia Dumont to everyone I know. What a great vacation!

This was a first time visit to New York City with my daughter and my niece and I would definitely stay here again. The room was spacious and the bedding was very comfortable. We were even allowed to order what kind of pillow we wanted. My daughter suffers from allergies and took the hypo-allergic kind. Their was even a small kitchen. Since it is an older hotel, the carpets could be updated. I have traveled extensively and thought the rate was resonable especially for New York City.

While I like the setup of the rooms, I'm disturbed that on 2 occassions in the last month the front desk has put either me or a client into a room that was already occuppied by another person. One mistake is understandable, but it happened on 2 consecutive visits, and the person who was barged in on says it happens here all the time. WHAT? So, after thinking I've found a new hotel to stay at in NY, I think I'm going to keep looking.

Good staff very helpful. Parking expensive, but this is New York. Well located, good staff, kitchened very useful for breakfast, very clean, good view from the 23rd floor, good size room with two bed very comfortable, I recommend this hotel.

A really good hotel. Highly recommended. Brilliant location, and rooms huge by New York standards for a very reasonable price.

When we travel to NYC we usually select lodging in New Jersey to cut down on the cost of our trip; however, this time we chose the Affinia Dumont, strictly from the photos on the web and we were pleasantly surprised. The room was comfortable, clean and we had a great view. The staff was very helpful and kind. We are planning another trip to the city this summer and will definitely choose Affinia.

Wonderful hotel; very clean, roomy, convenient and safe. Nice decor. Excellent staff who were very knowlegeable, friendly and outgoing. We had a great view on the 32nd floor. VERY short walk to subway. Will stay here again. Nice market a few doors up. Poor service at Barking Dog restaurant next door. Overall great trip and great hotel. Overall experience exceeded our expectations. Most New Yorkers anxious to assist with directions and subway tips!!!

I loved it! Very spacious. Even had a kitchen. I asked if I got upgraded as our room was so nice, but they said it was actually their smallest room. We had two double beds, a desk, an Armour, walking space, a kitchen and a beautiful marble bathroom. I was very impressed.

The best hotel so far in New York. Location is great: 4 blocks from the Empire State, a few from the Chrysler and UN bldgs. Excellent fitness facilities + friendly and informfull staff. Absolutely recommend to business people as well as to tourists. Suites are huge. For good views ask for a room/suite above the 15th floor. Prices are relatively high but that is NY after all.

This hotel was wonderful. Stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and was very surprised to have a large living room with a small kitchen very soft, comfortable bed. Hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly, fitness center has almost everything you need. The best part was the hotel was one of the cheapest hotels in midtown. It is also just a few blocks south of Grand Central Station and a few blocks east of Macy's and there are numerous places to eat within short walking distance. However this is not a large, lavish hotel like the Plaza or the Waldorf Astoria but those hotels are for those who aren't concerned about price. I would not only stay there again but I would stay there every time i go to New York. :)

We were in New York for our daughter's Sweet 16. This hotel was perfect. The room was large for New York. We had 2 wonderful Queen beds and down pillows and comforters. We were out late every night. The staff did not bother us. They allowed us to sleep. We would finally leave in the afternoon and upon our return our room would always be clean. The view was Great. Two large windows in a corner room. The view was of the east river and downtown. You are 2 blocks from the Empire State bldg. The one draw back is no coffee maker in the room. You have to request it to be delivered to your room. Be sure to do that, so it is there, for the morning or in our case afternoon coffee. We will always stay at one of the Affinia hotels in New York. It was perfect for us.

I was upgraded to spacious suite with great desk space. Interesting, fun, quirky, but still professional. It's a little off beaten path. You like that or yo udon't. Slightly off the beaten path, it was a quintessential boutique hotel -- quirky, fun, interesting, but nonetheless appropriate for professionals, with great desk space and lighting in the room.

A friend of mine and I just spent the past week (March 3 - 8, 2009) at the Affinia Dumont. The hotel is only a few blocks away from the Empire State Building, and a block away from the 6 train station on 33rd. Easy access to a Duane Reade (1 block away), Starbucks (1 block away), and excellent food choices, including the Barking Dog, which is right next to the hotel. Further, the East Village is a short distance away, making the cab rides on those late party nights even more appealing (our average was $6 + tip). Enough about the surrounding area, let's talk about the hotel. Upon entering the lobby, we were greeted by a courteous staff member, who spoke to us about our visit. When we mentioned that this was our first time in New York, she seemed quite interested and said she was going to give us a room with a great view. After receiving our keys we headed up to our room on the 32nd floor. These rooms are huge by NYC standards. A full kitchen (including stove, utensils, and full sized fridge) topped off the room. Other notes.. In room internet is pricey, but it was consistently fast. Three phones in the room, including one cordless and one in the bathroom! Housekeeping dutifully observed our "Shhh" sign, calling only after 1:30PM to determine when we would like them to take care of the room. Overall, this is one of the best experiences I've had at a hotel. The friendliness of the staff and dedication to the care of their guests makes the Affinia Dumont a hotel I would gladly recommend and will return to! Tell them the Carolina guys sent you!

Room was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again. Location was great. A lot of things within walking distance and if not cabs were available quickly. The overall hotel experience was very enjoyable and left us feeling great about the staff and place.

This hotel was AMAZING! We stayed on an upper-floor, north-facing room with a spectacular view of the Chrysler Building. The staff was wonderful and the room was huge with a full kitchen. By far the most comfortable hotel bed and pillows I've ever slept on! This was the best hotel stay we've ever had and we will be staying here every chance we get!
