I was there on vaction doing the tourist things. It would have been nice if they had CNN in English. The best thing about this hotel was its location. I was very close to public transportation. There was also a gas station across the street to get food and drink. The price of the hotel was also fair and the staff was very helpful. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The downtown are was very lively at night during the week however on weekends it's pretty dead.

Nothing! Unfriendly staff and extremely unsafe. This hotel was a total disaster. Hotel staff was extremely unfriendly and we were robbed twice at this hotel. Someone stole all the room keys to the 7th floor because the front desk person left the front desk unattended. Everyone on the 7th floor was robbed including me. Then, the next day right in front of the front door main entrance about 10 feet from the door and in plain view of the front desk someone broke our car window and bent the door frame and robbed stuff in our car.

Cheap and chearful hotel, walking distance from the airport so dont get sucked into taking a cab which drives you across the road, as there is a walkway over the main road and then its a left until you reach the hotel. This Hotel has seen better days, and the beds are not the best, but we have stayed here several times as the location is great if you are coming in late to the local airport and leaving early. Its also around the corner from the ferry and museums and on a Saturday there is a great antiques market nearby. The breakfast is excellent and there is a fridge in the room. The airconditioning is awful, it made such a noise we had to switch it off, and then if still made a noise which was irritating. The windows dont close properly so there is noise from the very busy road outside, but then this is Rio. If you stay for any length of time head for a B&B in Santa Teresa area which is gorgeous, but not as convenient.

Be aware!! This place which calls them self a hotel is the most misleading and false advertised place I've ever ventured to. Where do I begin to express the lousy and misleading information advertised. The customer service rendered at the front desk was rude and un-accommodating. The place smelled of mildew and mold. A/C not cold, sink hot water didn't work and it leaked, bed hard as a board and thin. I switched rooms from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor and encountered the same room issues. They advertise having a Fitness Facility, none to be found. High Speed Internet, not high speed and only available in the drafty and uncomfortable lobby where you had to pay, Data Port, where??? ?Business Center where??? Convention Center, where??? Meeting Rooms, again, Where???? With this place advertising all of these amenities, it aided in my choice on where to stay. So quite naturally I was looking forward to utilizing the abundant amenities offered. But when I got there and inquired, the hotel staff did not know what I was talking about. I traveled unaccompanied so I did not inquire about the kid's activity, but in my opinion the result of that would have been just another big disappointment. I was scheduled to stay from the 9th till 14th of March 2009. I checked out the second day after they disclosed yet another disappointing "undisclosed" hotel policy. This was the rule of guests not being allowed to have visitors in there rooms. I'm all for cultural understanding and tolerance. But what's the use of being in existence as a hotel and offering the poorest of service and misleading the general public? You step outside the hotel and your tripping over homeless people and beggars. Look elsewhere.

AEROPORTO OTHON TRAVEL- It did not turn out as advertised. When I arrived the room looked wasted. A glass tile from the bathroom was missing, beds hard as a rock, and no one there wrote down messages from phone calls I received while I was out. I asked, ""did I get any msgs?"" they replied, ""no"". Also the balcony was covered with a red mesh encopassing the side of the bldg. The potential good view, obstructed.
