What transport is available to get around?

As regards to transport into the town centre, it is a five minute walk from the hotel to the town centre and less if you were to go by taxi. The Cheshire Oaks shopping centre is not in walking distance but in a taxi it would cost between £12.00 - £14.00. If you wish to venture to bigger cities such as Liverpool, the best way to travel would be to go by train as the trains come every 15 to 20 minutes and take between 40 to 50 minutes. The train station is roughly 10 to 20 minutes walk away from the hotel but a mere five at the most 10 minutes taxi ride. The closest airport is Manchester and there are also trains running from Manchester airport to the city of Chester. They run every hour and it takes up to an hour and 10 minutes before you would arrive in Chester. However, if you do not fancy the long journey of a train we could order you a taxi to pick you up from your airport gate and bring you to the hotel for £40.00.

Do you provide parking?

If you wish to drive we do have a secure underground basement car park which is at a charge of £10.00 to park overnight. There is an alternative car parking behind the hotel at the Chester Racecourse which again is charged at £10.00 overnight.

What are your breakfast options?

For breakfast we offer a full a la carte menu served in our Michael Caines fine dining restaurant on the fifth floor overlooking Chester race course & the welsh hills. Choices include full English and continental breakfast options, along side luxurious extras such as eggs Benedict or scrambled egg with smoked salmon. During the week breakfast is served between 7:00 am to 10:00 am, on a Saturday morning from 8:00 am until 10:30 am and Sunday the leisurely time from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. We also offer Room Service Breakfast and ‘Breakfast to Go’, which can be pre-ordered the evening before required. Breakfast prices per person are £13.50 for a hot breakfast and £10.50 for continental only.

What can I do nearby?

There are lots of things to see and do in and around Chester. We have the beautiful ChesterCastle just opposite the road from where the hotel is situated. If it is a sunny day you may wish to walk on the Chester city walls which allows you to see the whole of Chester and also has access and exit routes which leads to different parts of the town so you can jump on and off the wall if you see something that catches your eye. We have a Roman amphitheater and if you really want to experience the sights and sounds of roman Chester then there is a roman experience where a roman solider takes you around the city itself and shows you where you prepare for battle and defend the walls.

If it is not such a pleasant day as we have so often at this time of year just up the road we have the underwater world of the blue planet aquarium, which is home to some of the largest sharks in Europe with multiple shows an feeds throughout the day. The open rock pool where you can touch a number of underwater creatures such as rays, lobsters, crabs and starfish. With animals ranging from otters, crocodile, sharks and tropical fish, with its underwater tunnel you are sure to feel under the sea by the end of the day. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy every girl surely like myself loves to shop so lucky for us right next to the Blue Planet aquarium there is the Cheshire Oaks shopping centre, which consists of numerous shops, restaurants and a cinema.
