The Abel Tasman Lodge offers panoramic Sea Views across the Bay of Islands and is ideally located in a prime location on Paihia"s exclusive waterfront in the true heart of the Bay of Islands. Abel Tasman Lodge is uniquely nestled against a bush clad reserve (The Bluff) on one side, with Paihia"s Wharf and Central Township (Williams Rd) just a short 1-2 minute stroll along the waterfront to the right.

The Abel Tasman Lodge, with it"s choice of accommodation, makes an ideal location where you can base yourself in comfort and explore the many delights of the Bay of Islands and Northland. Or, if you prefer, just relax, enjoy the panoramic sea views and watch the world go by.

You can relax and swim at the beach across the road from the Lodge while you keep an eye out for the dolphins that are sometimes seen offshore playing in the Bay. For a change of scene, you can take a leisurely 1-2 minute stroll around The Bluff to the left and you will discover that there is another wonderful large beach for you to enjoy.

If you have children, there is a large children"s playground located on the grassed beach reserve. This beach is also ideal for swimming and relaxing while you enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bay of Islands. For the more active and adventurous, at this location during the summer months, you can usually hire a Jet Ski or a Kayak so that you can get out on the water and enjoy!
