This was a pretty average room; not very nicely kept but not gross or unsanitary. It was missing a coffee maker and an alarm clock, but what was there was functional. The wallpaper was peeling off a little, and the towels were small and no longer white. But it was quiet and relatively comfortable, good for a night's sleep. And the Wifi worked well.

It was closer to my location than my home. There was a mildew smell all through out the hotel. It should have been cheaper.

I visited Ann Arbor to attend orientation for UM. I chose this hotel for closeness to UM and the price. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. Another review stated the towels weren't white, which was true although they were clean. When I read what came with the rooms, I expected them to be there. There was no coffee maker in the room or iron. I didn't ask about the iron because I didn't need it but I did call the front desk about the coffee maker. They called back saying I would have to get my coffee from the lobby coffeemaker. Disappointing since I like to drink my coffee as I get around in the morning. I think this hotel no longer has enough coffeemakers and irons to go around and can't afford to buy more. Also it advertised a continental breakfast. I had to leave at 7AM to go to orientation but I expected the dining room to be open early for those who had to leave early. I was wrong. The dining room didn't open until 7AM when I had to leave. I had to get breakfast from a drive through. Other than that, all was well and the service was courteous. When I couldn't figure out how to get the shower going, they came right over to show me how it works.

King size bed. Shabby, run down, dirty hallways. Towels scratchy and small. Hot water faucet broken, desk staff ignored complaint. Continental breakfast frozen muffins and cheerios.

Nothing. No elevator, coffee, heat,TV remote. This was the dirtiest place I have ever stayed!

I work in the area and have stayed here 4 times and just signed up for my 5th stay. It's not the Ritz, but I have had clean rooms and it's been quiet every time. Check-in is always quick. The Thai restaurant attached to the hotel is very good - I'd give it a 4/5 also, for the food, and there is a lot of interesting kitchy stuff to look at in there, too.

It was horrible. We asked for a crib and they never had one for us, even though we made the reservation long time in advance. We asked only for a non-smoking room and got a smoking room. The hotel was a dump and there was ton of noise all through out the hotel. I never felt safe or comfortable there. Everything is falling apart and not be taken care of. I would just avoid this place. The pictures are misleading because I believe that is what it looked like when it first opened. Go somewhere else. Service was horrible, they kept treating me like I was dump, but infact it was their people, because they could not anwser any of my questions.

Sorry I cant say good about this hotel, except stay away from it!!! EVERYTHING. Every room was dirty, human urine in stairway, cat urine smell in hallways, pool closed by health dept., no maid service for 3 days (in either room) security locks on doors broken, ice machines didn't work, had to go to front desk for towels, garbage bags, coffee. We have a list of 57 things, way to much to go into here.

The rooms were horrible! When we arrived they didn't have a non-smoking room as we requested. We checked out the rooms to see how bad the smell was and it has horrible you could still smell the cigarettes. Then we got another room it was a little better so we kept it. Later that night we were going to take a shower and there was no water coming out. We went to complain. The receptionist working that night told us there was nothing he could do until the next day. What he did do got us mad he gave us a key to an empty room so we can take a shower. The room wasn't a double so we couldn't move to that room. We just took a shower in that room. It was a horrible experience we will never return to Ann Arbor University Hotel and Suites.

This hotel was chosen for distance to Univ of Mich. This is an extremely poor hotel. Rooms are dirty and un-kept. One family member was unable to use room due to filthy condition of walls and bedding. Hotel could not find reservation made though Orbitz 5 months prior to Graduation. One family member stayed in only non-smoking room left. Room was unclean, toilet ran all night and breakfast buffet was no where to be found. No manager was available to help and staff seemed indifferent.

Right off the highway - close to U of M. Real shabby - not kept up - pool closed. Hotel is being renovated - it hopefully will be nicer when completed.

This is a good, value-priced, basic hotel. It was clean and very quiet. They also offer a continental breakfast. I work in the area and will stay here again.

It was cheap. No clock, no remote, no ash trays. It was the cheapest hotel around, but I still had expected to see a remote control for the television, an alarm clock, and an ash tray in our smoking room that already stunk of cigarette buts when we got there, but I was let down.

what I disliked most was the uncleanliness of the place. the towels were thin and dirty (brown looking white towels?? I wonder what happened to bleach. I had to go get my own towels. I guess if you go cheap be prepared to live with the consequences. after this experience, I am never staying at an Inn/motel. I will rather die

Good location, and inexpensive. Traffic noise, old, no feeling of safety, hard to get into parking lot from the street. Basically, I got what I paid for. No bells and whistles, just a place to lay your head at night. The hotel is undergoing renovation, or so they posted, but it doesn't seem like they have made much progress. The room, however, looked and smelled clean. A suggestion: only park in the front of the hotel, for safety reasons. The attached Thai Rest. was excellent. I would recommend this hotel only if you are in the area for a very brief stay.

The first non-smoking room had a very unpleasant smell; we were given another room to change to. The breakfast area was not clean and there was barely any food. We only had milk and then had to leave; even the orange juice was empty.

Good location. No hot water in bathroom sink (although shower ok); stiff, scratchy towels; stained sheets; unbelievably horrible pillows; bad continental breakfast. I was on a tight budget and thought I'd be fine with a bare-bones motel, but this place disappointed me (and my standards are pretty low). I would definitely scrape together the $10 extra bucks to stay someplace else next time. I think this place pretends to be "undergoing renovations" on a permanent basis, in order to get around its flaws. Sadly, according to friends who live nearby, the temporary-looking paper-banner sign out front has been up for a couple of years already.
