Just returned from Eureka Springs and stayed at the 1876 Inn. First the good. The Staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. We had a Jacuzzi King room that was very clean. There was an outdoor fire pit near our room that was very cool. There was also covered parking which was nice as we came on motorcycles. The negatives. The room decor was dated. The pool was usable but the water was a bit cloudy. The grounds keeping around the hotel was really poor and needed a lot of work. Also the hotel description said there was a Motorcycle Wash area. If there was one we never saw it. We would stay there again. A good value hotel!

I've stayed at the 1876 Inn at least 3 times and loved it. My room was clean and the staff was very friendly. I love the reasonable rates, gives me more money to play in Eureka Springs! It's always been quiet and relaxing at the 1876 Inn. The best part is the breakfast buffet, the waffles are amazing. I've been there often enough now that the staff remembers me and that's really nice.

This hotel is located in a good spot in Eureka Springs and is right on the trolley line. It was very cheap at $64 a night during October. Caveats are: Room smelled like mold and carpet was stained, sheets didn't fit, room heater had not been cleaned and belched dust out when we started it, no blankets on the bed, just the spread and ill-fitting sheets. Some of the popcorn texture on the ceiling fell off onto the floor while we were there. Good things were, price, location, maids did well cleaning up and put sheets on that fit our second day, and the bathroom water pressure and heat for the shower were fine. I think this is okay for the money if you bring your own sleeping bag and pillow and watch out for the stuff that comes flying out of the heater/air-con unit. Also, slippers are a good idea. I would not spend any more money to stay here than I did though. There is a restaurant on premises but we did not eat there. Eureka Springs does not seem to have many good eateries.

I am a pretty easy-going person, and I don't expect a lot from a motel. However, this place was truly a horror that will stay with me for the rest of my life. It may have been named 1876 to commemorate the date it was last cleaned. We booked a nonsmoking room, but the first room they gave us smelled like an ashtray, and contained an ashtray sitting on top of the TV. We go back and say, um, could we get a nonsmoking room? Then they hand us some keys to a room whose bath tub contained dental floss and a spider in a web, indicating that the area had not seen a cleaning in quite a while. That combined with the dingy, musty smell of the place still didn't faze me, however, the next thing did. When we turned back the sheets, we found we had a little friend running around under the covers. A BROWN RECLUSE SPIDER WAS IN THE BED. How do I know it was a brown recluse? I was traveling with my friend, who has her doctorate in entymology! The best part is that when we complained to the night staff person at the front desk, he shouted "If you don't like it, leave!!" All this for 129 a night! So, to review, if you want to overpay for a dirty, poisonous spider infested room with the bonus of a verbally abusive staff person, please to enjoy the Motel of Horrors, 1876.

I don't remember what the date was that we stayed, but it was the best weeks vacation I ever had. The owners were so friendly, they made my husband and I feel welcomed. My teen son thought they were great! The other family that came with us felt the same. I would not have been more comfortable if I had been at home. Maybe it was not the news hotel in town but the hospitality was the best. I would stay there my next trip. Thanks for the great week.

This place could use a major facelift. The carpets are very worn, and there were spots of what looked like mold on the shower curtain. The jacuzi worked well.. the foam mattress was weird, and there was a VERY odd mural painted on the wall of our room. The free breakfast cost us $19.00, and it was only ok.. the waffells were good, however. I wouldn't go back.

We made reservations through the travel agency for a jacuzzi suite at this hotel. The hotel's website had no specific disclosures regarding pets. Upon arrival we were informed we could not have a pet in a non-smoking jacuzzi room; instead we had to stay in a smoking room with our Dashchund for the same rate as the jacuzzi room! Never again.
